The "Ten Commandments" ("The Law"), are the Rules that Jesus lived by during his life on Earth.  He also practiced the Golden Rule.  In combination, He set the example of the perfect Lifestyle.

The Golden Rule: "You Shall Love Your Neighbor As Yourself"; ("Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You") is much more than a saying; it's a gift of God that increases your love for God, your neighbor and yourself.

But, how does this connect with the Commandments and God?  Well, the first three Commandments are strictly between you and God and do not involve your neighbor.  The remaining seven however, are all about the next guy.  This is where the Golden Rule starts to shine.  By using the Golden Rule we come to understand and obey the Commandments.  When we love others we don't want to hurt them.  This is exactly what most of the Commandments are about.

God is the source of all the Love in the Universe.  He created all the Love there is and He owns all of it.  He loves everything He's ever created, before, now and in the future... forever.

We are included in His infinite Love but we have a job to do.  With the free-will that God gives us, we can choose how much of that job we do.  We don't have to do any if we don't want to and He will still love us. That job involves the Golden Rule.   Jesus used it all the time.  This is how it works...

God wants us to take His Love and administer it to our neighbors.  He wants it to flow from Him, through you, to your fellow man.  You might ask... "Why doesn't He just do it Himself?"  No, because that does not develop your relationship with your fellow man.  When you extend God's Love you develop a respect between your neighbor and you .  You will find that keeping the Commandments then, becomes much easier for you. When you love your neighbor, you won't want to hurt him.   Commandments 4 - 10 are all about love and human behavior.

So, you see, by practicing the Golden Rule you are circulating God's Love and where love is, you find happiness and peace...
