Muzzle the Puzzle

Recently I received a Comment accusing me of "hiding behind my religious beliefs"... that person obviously doesn't know much about me.  It's true that I do have "religious beliefs" and, thank God, so do most Americans.  I do not hide behind anything (especially my beliefs) as you probably know from the stuff I write.  Now, might be a good time to let you know how I got this way.  This will be a kind of a partial confession (sounds like some sort of a medical procedure).

As a little kid, I found that some of the teachings in the parochial school I attended were interesting and inspiring but were beyond my understanding.   Anyway, I accepted it and spent most of my life with about the same amount of understanding.  What I'm saying is that some of it still puzzled me as it did when I was a little kid!  Will I ever put the Puzzle together?  Nobody else over the years ever presented to me the simple most important pieces that fit.

A few years ago during the night, in the middle of sleep, I awoke with a message; "Ten Commandments".  That was it... nothing else.  I thought it must have been the pumpkin pie before bedtime, although I never heard anything spiritual about pumpkin pie.  The next morning I remembered why not to eat that stuff before bedtime because the message was still there and it decided to stay there no matter what.  So, I bought a LARGE PRINT bible for backup and started thinking about this.   I wanted to come up with an easy simple-to-do plan for my own lifestyle.

God created all creatures and gave them Rules to live by.  He did not present to them difficult restrictions but rather simple ones that every creature could understand.  These Rules were to help them enjoy their lives with love, harmony and happiness.  The Rules for humans is known as God's Commandments.  There are only Ten and they are simple enough to keep.  But, for many that's not good enough.   Everyone wants to do any thing they want without accountability... to have their cake and eat it too.  Many people nowadays, have slipped beyond having a fulfilling spiritual life.  Finding a caring pastor to talk with is a very good place to start.

As a result of the pressure on me from the pie, I put the pieces of the puzzle together in a simple way, the way I believe God wants us to live.  I just rearranged the pieces so that they can lock together and become easy for everyone to understand and to live a spiritual life they can be proud of.

The Puzzle Pieces Assembled:

  1. God is pure love and He created all humans to love Him and do the best we can. He will always love us for eternity and He hopes that with the free will He has given us that we take advantage of our days here on Earth, to practice love for our fellow humans.

  2. God gave the world Rules for Human Behavior known as the "Ten Commandments".

  3. God built into everyone a little decision maker called "Conscience".  If, while you are keeping a Commandment you have a small question... look inside yourself to see how you feel about it and act accordingly.   In no case however, do you break the Commandment.

  4. Jesus came to teach, set examples and show the way for all humans to live.

  5. As His Lifestyle, Jesus obeyed the Commandments and practiced the Golden Rule (whereby, God allows His Love to flow through you... to your neighbor, thus creating mutual respect and love between you and your neighbor.  When you love your neighbor you don't want to hurt him).  This supports the last seven (of the ten) Commandments.

  6. Jesus lived as God wanted and finally was crucified for our salvation.   He was resurrected to show there is existence beyond death.  It is very possible, because of God's immeasurable love and creativity, that everything God ever created is a Divine Masterpiece that exists for eternity.

This is all there's to it... nothing impossible... nothing too hard for anyone.  If you try sincerely to live as God wants.  If you falter, He will forgive you... keep trying because each time you try again you will become stronger and it will get easier for you.  When you get The Lifestyle right, you got it all!
